Elise Stenger | Editor
Elise Stenger is a fourth year studying Digital Media Collaborative at University of Cincinnati. She is working towards a certificate in Game Design, and plans to enter that industry. She spends her free time volunteering for the university’s Esports club and going out with friends.
Lili Alimohammadi | Editor
Lili Alimohammadi studies psychology and creative writing at UC, where they’re student curatorial intern for the Elliston Poetry Collection and president of Cincinnati Poetry Collective. They’ve received awards for their poetry, fiction, essays, and artwork, and they edit the quarterly zine Braids.
Madeline Schrand | Editor
Madeline Schrand is an English student with a certificate in Copyediting and Publishing. When she is not in the classroom, she can be found singing with the UC Choruses, writing at UC Writers Circle, or editing as the Chief Editor for Her Campus Cincinnati. She is passionate about cats, literature, movies, and activism.

Niki Acosta | Editor
Niki Acosta is a 4th year student, majoring in Rhetoric & Professional Writing. She loves Maya Angelou poetry, sunsets, and long hikes spent collecting fossils and stopping every 5 minutes to admire interesting tree root formations.
Rachel Hoermann | Editor
Rachel Hoermann is a third-year student at the University of Cincinnati, dual-majoring in English-Creative Writing and English- Rhetoric and Professional Writing. Rachel is a member of Pi Epsilon Pi Writing Society and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Before joining the Short Vine Journal, Rachel served as Managing Editor of the East Fork Journal from Fall 2022 to Spring 2024. Rachel enjoys writing, reading, baking, art, and spending time with her daughters, husband, and pets.
Fiction
John Blevins | Editor
John Blevins is a senior at the University of Cincinnati majoring in Rhetoric and Professional Writing with a minor in Creative Writing. He mostly reads Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Surreal Fiction. Although he is especially interested in Storytelling in Video Games, Puzzle Solving, Web-Series, Meta-Narratives, and ARGs.
Kaitlyn Corbell | Editor
Kaitlyn Corbell is a fourth year creative writing major working towards a minor in psychology, and the copy-editing and publishing certificate. She aims to become a developmental editor and a YA/Fantasy/Sci-Fi author. She enjoys reading fiction, learning about and discussing neurodivergence/psychology, hanging out with friends and family, and all things fantasy, such as Dungeons and Dragons.
Paige Simpson | Editor
A senior double majoring in international business and digital media, Paige Simpson is dedicated to writing, reading, and exploring innovative ideas. With a keen interest in thrifting, museums, skincare, and film, Paige continually seeks out fresh perspectives and creative experiences.
Quino | Editor
Quino Casanova is an English Creative Writing student. When not in class, you’ll find her wrapped in a blanket with a crossword and a mug of tea. Her current favorite writers are Terry Pratchett and Ryoko Kui. She’s excited to read all of this issue’s submissions, especially any sci-fi or fantasy stories.
River Risk | Editor
River Risk is a senior working toward a Creative Writing English degree, with a certificate in Professional Writing. She is passionate about storytelling of all forms, illustration, and publishing her webcomic while learning all she can about the fields of writing and publishing.

Catherine Ladouceur | Editor
Catherine Ladouceur is a senior at UC, studying English Literature and Cultural studies. She enjoys reading all kinds of novels, taking walks with her dog, and singing karaoke with her friends.
Koralynn McCall | Editor
Koralynn McCall is a junior studying Digital Media Collaborative and pursuing a video editing career. She is devoted to the creation of stories through filmmaking, and in her spare time, loves to read, draw, and play games with friends.
Jack Morgan | Editor
Jack Morgan is a third-year communications student at UC working towards a minor in English. He is a passionate champion of animal rights and the environment and is currently the president of the UC Vegan and Vegetarian Club.
Interns
Ashley Albert | Intern
Ashley Albert (they/them) is a fifth-year Medical Sciences major at the University of Cincinnati, pursuing certificates in Copyediting & Publishing and Creative Writing. They can often be found hunched in a dark corner of their home with a laptop and loose knick-knacks scattered around them – that is, when they aren’t performing with the World Class Indoor Percussion Ensemble, ConneXus.
Indrid Lovelock | Intern
Indrid Lovelock (he/it) is a fifth-year Creative Writing major at the University of Cincinnati. It experiences horrors of various ilks which it pours into its writing. His work has been published in Short Vine Spring ‘24. It can be found lurking the dark stacks of library basements and @indridlovelock practically everywhere.
Haley Smith | Intern
Haley Smith (she/her) is a fourth-year Creative Writing major with a certificate in Copyediting and Publishing at the University of Cincinnati. She was a poetry editor for the Fall 2023 issue of Short Vine and has since been published by 318 Journal. She loves fiction and poetry and aims to be an editor and author in the future. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her daughter (who also happens to be a puppy), read, and just be a girl.
