Lilly Raimi
Lilly is a third-year English major on the Literary and Cultural Studies track, with a minor in Marketing, and a certificate in Copyediting and Publishing. When I’m not in class I love getting a coffee and reading a book, going to a hot pilates class, or going for a walk. I have a passion for stories and writing; getting to work with writers and make their stories come to life.
Ava Caito
Hello, my name is Ava! I’m a third-year student studying English with a track of Rhetoric & Professional Writing. I love reading but love writing even more, and I am so excited to help create the Fall 2026 issue of Short Vine! When I’m not busy with school or work (or reading or writing), I like to exercise, listen to music, go on walks with my friends, and visit my local bakery for a treat and maple latte.
Poetry
Sharvaree Bhalerao
A professional daydreamer and a poet, Sharvaree is a student of International Affairs & Creative Writing. Originally from India, she wishes to explore themes of homeland, belonging, and vagrancy as well as love, grief and rage in her work. She mostly resides in fantastical worlds and her talents include philosophizing, soliloquizing and of course, writing. She wants to pursue her MFA in Poetry.
Chandler Daugherty
Chandler Daugherty is a fourth-year English: Creative Writing student. She enjoys writing poetry, science fiction, and fantasy stories, and geeks out over beautifully crafted sentences in prose. When she’s not at home blasting alternative rock music, Chandler can be found at a rock climbing gym, a nature trail, or the SFF section of used bookstores.
Gracie Dillon
Gracie Dillon is a fourth-year English: Literary and Cultural Studies major with a minor in Communications at the University of Cincinnati. She is passionate about creative writing and telling people’s stories through creative expression, regardless of the medium. When she isn’t writing poetry or short stories, you can find her curled up with a comic book or playing on her PlayStation.
Tim Eliassen
Tim Eliassen is a 3rd year Neuroscience major with a minor in English. Beyond reading and experimenting with different styles of writing, he enjoys going to concerts, drawing, skateboarding, and hosting a weekly radio show through the Bearcast Media.
Interns
Evie Skene
Evie Skene is a third-year Creative Writing and Media Production double major. She loves writing poetry and screenplays, and she is currently learning to read five books at once! Some of her special interests right now are film photography, claymation, and random animal facts.
Sarah Kuhr
Sarah Kuhr is a fourth-year English undergraduate studying Rhetoric & Professional Writing, Literary & Cultural Studies, and Copyediting & Publishing. She has previously published in Short Vine and believes writing gives language to the constant boil within them—a space for the universe simmering beneath their skin. When not in class, she greatly enjoys oversharing the details of their life with friends. After graduating, they hope to pursue their MA in Professional Writing.
Creative Nonfiction
Ashleigh Green
Ashleigh is a fifth-year English: Creative Writing student with a certificate in Mediterranean Archaeology, combining her passions for ancient history and the written word into one. When Ashleigh isn’t writing or reading about ancient culture, she’s exploring other immersive worlds through video games and films. To quote herself, she is fascinated by “the longevity of human experience through writing” as she seeks out new adventures and knowledge to feed that fascination.
Azaria Davis
Azaria is a fourth-year Creative Writing major with a passion for mythology and folklore. When not reading every piece of fantasy she finds, Azaria spends her time baking, or trying her best to clear levels on Puzzle Seventeen. When the opportunity strikes, she goes to concerts, conventions, and Ren-Faire.
Max Yuchasz
Max Yuchasz is a third-year English major at UC, with concentrations in Literary & Cultural Studies and English Education. His goal is to become an English teacher, combining two of his greatest passions: the power of language and the power of people. He spends most of his free time at the circus, training for shows and instructing aerial arts. Otherwise, he may be found traversing coffee shops and thrift stores.
Quinn Barber
Quinn is a fourth-year English student majoring in Creative Writing with a certificate in Professional Writing at the University of Cincinnati. His favorite aspect of creative writing is the freedom to tell any kind of story in any way that you want. Outside of writing, he enjoys learning to cook new foods and spending time outside listening to music.
Fiction
Ripley Padgett
Ripley Padgett is a fourth-year English: Creative Writing student with a minor in Anthropology. He has been writing for as long as he can remember and hopes to bring to life the universe in his head he finds himself traveling to often. Outside of class, if he isn’t still writing, Ripley can be found with a mountain of comic books or playing games on his PC.
Max Klocke
Max is a fourth-year English student with a focus in Creative Writing. They are also pursuing studies in French and Screenwriting. They have always loved being able to tell a story, and they are excited for the opportunity to see others do the same. When they aren’t scheming their next plot point, you can find them attempting to schedule their next D&D session with friends or relaxing in a hammock with a good book.
Raymon Render
Raymon Render is a fourth-year Journalism major and Creative Writing major. He enjoys exercising, drawing, creating stories that inspire others through his own personal experience, as well as reading all genres of books, and watching all types of movies and TV shows. He is also a habitual café hopper (along with movie theaters too).
Robert Chalk
Rob Chalk is a fourth-year Lighting Design & Technology student at UC, CCM. While pursuing his career as a lighting designer and programmer, he also writes speculative science fiction. Rob loves to explore themes of the collective strength of humanity and how the world can be shaped through our relationships to metaphysical concepts. He is an artist at heart who wakes up every morning with a drive to create.
